Welcome, Friends!

Our non-profit organization, Friends on a Mission, was started in 2008 to provide for the needs of underprivileged, terminally ill, and mentally challenged children and their families. Our organization is 100% volunteer driven.  This way, you know where your money is going to help the Youth of our area.  We are currently focusing our help on the youth in the Greater Charlotte North Carolina area.

Each year, Friends on a Mission is going to focus on two missions: one financial and one volunteer project. The financial mission last year was to provide recreational equipment for organizations that are working with underprivileged children in Union County. This year, we are conducting a grant process to see what other projects we can help with.

Congratulations to United Family Services!!!!  Friends on a Mission is going to upgrade their Play Therapy Programs at their facilities.  This will help them better serve the children in this program.  We will be providing updates on how this is going.

This year's Luau event was a SUCCESS!!

Despite the economy, Friends on a Mission was able to increase the amount of money raisied this year.  Not all of the money is in yet, but it looks like we will net over $8,500.  This is wonderful.  It gives us enough money to help the children in the Play Therapy Program as well as have an event in the summer to give underprivileged children a "Christmas in July".

Money spent wisely from fundraiser

We cleared over $6,000 at our first fundraiser.  This money went towards our missions.  We chose to help two organizations in Union County - Habitat for Humanity and Turning Point of Union County  We made a playground for several Habitat houses so the kids have somewhere to play.  At Turning Point, we supplied toys, playground equipment and a new basketball court.  The kids loved all the new stuff.  Thank you to all of our vendors and individuals that contributed to our success.  We look forward to doubling next year's event.  Please contact us if you would like to volunteer or put your name on the waiting list for next year's event.
