Welcome, Friends!
Our non-profit organization, Friends on a Mission, was started in 2008 to provide for the needs of underprivileged, terminally ill, and mentally challenged children and their families. Our organization is 100% volunteer driven. This way, you know where your money is going to help the Youth of our area. We are currently focusing our help on the youth in the Greater Charlotte, North Carolina area.
Each year, Friends on a Mission is going to focus on missions that will directly help the youth in our area. The missions are conducted through a grant process to see what projects we can help with. We have built basketball courts, supplied toys to children that had nothing, helped renovate a Play Therapy program at United Family Services' facilities. Due to successful fundraisers, we were able to help several more Youth programs like Thompson Child and Family Focus.
4th Annual Kids Come First Fundraiser - SOLD OUT!!!!
This year's event was a HUGE success! It was a sell out and we made enough money to complete all three missions we wanted to do this year. Thank you to everyone that attended and for all of you that donated money, product, or services. We could not have done it without you. Thanks!2011 mission winner
This is where your money is going to this year....
Florence Crittenton Services - We are buying them four new computers for their Vocational Education Program which promotes graduation and job training to the pregnant teens
Lakewood Community Development - We are purchasing ten mountain bikes which will allow the children to participate in a mountain biking activity rather than the challenges they face today.
Teen Health Connection - We are going to purchase $500 in bus passes in order to provide a proactive approach to the children's physical and mental health care needs. The passes should help the teens keep their appointments.
