Our Mission

Mission

Our non-profit organization, Friends on a Mission, was started last year to provide for the needs of underprivileged, terminally ill, and mentally challenged children and their families. Our program is geared at directly helping kids in need.  We do not give money directly to organizations.  We buy the items that they need so that way we know the money is going to the right place.

In 2008, we were able to help two organizations in Union County.  Friends on a Mission helped Turning Point by providing toys and recreation equipment that they did not have before.  These kids came to this shelter with nothing to play with.  We provided Turning Point with a new basketball court, a new water slide, and plenty of toys so each child is easily entertained. Friends on a Mission also helped Habitiat for Humantity by building a playground in one of their neighborhoods.

Last year, we conducted a grant process to see what other projects we can help with.  We helped United Family Services by improving the quality of items in their Play Terapy Program.  We also were able to help the children at Thompson Child & Family Focus.  Please see the nice article below that United Family Services did last year.
